Early Childhood Years Programme (1.8 To 5.8 Years)

Building blocks: Mind, Soul and body at TPS

Children learn the basics of confident speaking and effective communication. They listen to and understand stories, and begin to read and write. They will practice these skills in a range of situations and for different purposes.

An introduction to various experiences that help children develop a positive sense of themselves and others, respect for others, social skills and the disposition to learn.

Here, children will develop their understanding of Mathematics in a range of contexts. They will explore, enjoy, learn, practice and talk about their understanding of numbers, shapes, measures and calculations.

Opportunities for exploration, curiosity and play with a variety of materials will be provided. Children are encouraged to share thoughts, ideas and feelings through art, music, movement, dance, imagination and role-play activities.

Children will be supported in development of the skills of coordination, control and movement. This area also includes learning about physical activity, hygiene and health choices in relation to food.

This area features knowledge, skills and attitudes that help children make sense of the world. It covers science, history, design & technology and ICT.

This unique feature will help the children to learn outside the classroom, being one with the nature. The sensory path, construction zone, rule of the road and reading below the tree concepts would make the child discover the joys of learning in a stress-free environment.

The Kindergarten resource room has moved well beyond the concept of mere isolated facility for housing books and other materials but as an integral component of the total teaching-learning process.
